" Getting Back With My Ex Wife Is Harder Than Winning the Tokyo Governor Election" : Says Hideo Higashikokubaru

After his resignation of a governor of Miyazaki, Hideo Higashikokubaru ran for the Tokyo governor election in March. He appeared on BISTRO SMAP after his loss. He is currently unemployed and the members of SMAP asked him various questions.

Higashikokubaru has visited the affected areas of the Eastern Japan Earthquake and he was absolutely speechless. He is now determined that people need to spend money in order to support those affected people. He highly encouraged Masahiro Nakai, one of the SMAP members, when Nakai said that he tries to buy products from Fukushima and Ibaraki.

When he was asked by an audience what he really wants to do, he said that he "wants to cheer the country up". He also said he has no intention of going back to Miyazaki as a governor. According to him, he has resigned the governor of Miyazaki because he was responsible for the epidemic of foot and mouth disease in Miyazaki.

Lastly, he was asked whether there is a possibility of getting back with Kazuko Kato, his ex wife, he said "the chance is lower than winning the Tokyo governor election".

Kato also said before that there is no way of getting back together, so it seems like there is no chance. Higashikokubaru also said that he has no intention of going back to TV, however, his appearance on SMAPxSMAP may suggest his come back.
